Start of my blog

This project to me is going to be a hard research paper to write. I feel that my thoughts are gong to run on an on like this journal probably will. I feel that it is hard to get all my ideas together and make them flow enough to make sense. I want to write about a topic over education because that is what I hope to pursue my career in. I want to learn about the teaching styles of children of the younger ages that deal with nine to thirteen years old. What ways work best? Do the children think that a hand on learning is more effective versus lecture style classrooms? I want to know the different styles of teaching. What are ways to reach out to kinesthetic learners?  I want to be writing about a topic that will interest me for nine weeks. I feel that this process will help me learn how to pace myself and set goals.  I think that the topic of birth order also is interesting to me because I am a twin and I feel that I could relate to this. The correlation between academic achievement and creativity would be the main focus of this topic. I feel that learning about the young children’s mind is important to learn and study an I think the psychological of it all is very interesting.  How do children deal with death, divorce, sexual abuse or traumatic events? Early literacy at a young age and how it affects the children’s learning ability. It is hard to narrow my topics down due to the concentration on children. I’m not sure what topic would have a lot of information on while also keeping it focused. I would like to research what children do to cope with difficult material and the process they go through when their parents read to them on a family basis.  Parenting lifestyles can play a huge impact on the way that children are raised in a school.  You always wonder what the best way for students to learn best. Will we ever really know that? f course the way a person learns best depends on the person. Different learning styles for different people is very common and that is why is important to research this before you become a teacher and try many ways of teaching. Teaching plans (lesson plans) should be thought out and well constructed in order to reach the entire class. This can be very difficult especially if you have different personalities in the classroom which you are most likely going to have. It is also important to teach the children how to learn their learning style. Do they like sports, music, math, hands on? There are many different ways that children learn best. It is interesting to research this because by the time children hit high school they usually know what is the most productive way to learn in the classroom.  This is why it is important to stress all the learning styles to the students at a young age.  A lot of learning processes take place in the classroom and in a home environment.  This sometimes can not be change so you have to work with what you got. The learning process can go at a slower pace if this is not monitored or taken into effect by the teacher. The structure of the lessons is important. Does the teacher have a routine that happens everyday? This helps the student to stay focused. There are many different learning styles but I feel that these are some of the most important that teachers need to take into affect. Some are due to the structure of the lesson and some are simple as in environmental settings. Does that child learn better indepently or  better with a group? Cooperative learning can be effective but what if the student is a self learner? You should not be putting this student in group work everyday. I feel that some students learn better when they listen to something know as auditory. They are good with lecture style classes. I feel that personally I do not fall into this category. I am in the next. I am a visual learner. The use of colors and hand on experiences helped me.  When I am studying for a certain class it is also very likely that I am taking notes in my own handwriting.  I also feel the simple things are a classroom make up how the students will learn. Does the student prefer a formal or informal setting? This usually has to be a formal setting if you are in a middle school classroom. I have seen however in a fifth grazed language arts classroom couches and beanbags for children to lie on and read. This can also lead to a quiet or noisy learning environment. For me I like the sound to be silent if I am doing work. I feel that I can not focus if there is a TV on or people talking. Teachers need to take this into effect because some students would prefer background music besides total silence. The noise level also needs to be monitored however because some students make to much noise tapping their foot or whistling which can be more annoying than an encouraging sound. I have also had an issue in my classroom that I am currently in now. There is always a battle to find the right temperature in the classroom. Some are always hot then are others that are freezing. We tell the students to dress in layers but this is a learning style that needs to be taken into affect. I think that learning can be a difficult to tackle if you as a teacher are not willing to learn and use different techniques. You also need to learn that these are children. You need to take a break every once and a while to stretch or stand.
